Are you a talented web developer looking to apply your skills to make a difference?
We are searching for a junior frontend engineer to help develop a next generation tool to drive the adoption of energy efficiency, solar and batteries.
The role will involve refactoring and extending a complex in-browser web application that is applied to collect data about buildings and appliances and visualize simulated energy data.
You will have demonstrated skills building interactive in-browser web applications, working with CSS, LESS/SASS, ES6, and modern frontend build and testing tools.
You will also ideally have experience working with Twitter Bootstrap, Facebook React, Leaflet, D3 and/or Plotly.
For bonus points, you will have some backend skills (ideally working with Python / Django), though this is certainly not essential.
The position would initially involve a 6-month internship contract working locally in Sydney, with a view to transition to an ongoing appointment if everything goes well.
About Ecologic Apps
Ecologic Apps is a small startup with a big mission. We are transforming how energy is used and generated in buildings and cities by combining simulation science, big data analytics and bleeding edge web and mobile technology.
Our set of apps and our cloud-based simulation platform help households, businesses and communities assess and install energy efficiency, solar and batteries.
You begin by answering a targeted set of questions about your building and appliances. Your responses are then sent to the cloud where we perform a set of advanced physical and financial simulations. You are then sent a detailed analysis of your energy use and a tailored energy saving plan including building improvements, efficient appliances, solar and batteries. We then help you act on your plan by connecting you with local suppliers, reviews, e-quotes, finance and incentives.
