What we're looking for
Three key attributes will ensure a good fit for founders joining the EnergyLab Incubator.
Cleantech entrepreneurs
We're looking for founders of businesses with the potential to grow fast and make a significant impact on important environmental challenges like climate change.
ANZ connection
Anyone in the world is welcome to apply, but we do ask that Incubator members have a connection to Australia and/or New Zealand. Although most of our startups are based in Australia, some are now expanding offshore while others are based overseas and are exploring the Australian market.
Culture fit
We're 100 per cent committed to the values of respect, trust and a 'give first' mentality, and uber-proud of the community that has grown around them. We firmly believe that founders will get the most out of their EnergyLab experience through applying these values while part of the Incubator.
How to apply
Applying for the EnergyLab Incubator is easy. Simply apply online and dial into a short interview.
1
Online application
Applications to join EnergyLab's Incubator will officially open in November 2020.

If you would like to get in touch before then, please feel free to fill in our short Expression of Interest form - we'd love to hear from you!
2
Interview
Once we have reviewed your application and confirmed the EnergyLab Incubator could be a good fit, we'll invite you to an interview with a couple of our team members.

The interview will last for about 20 minutes and will be held via videoconference. It will be an opportunity for us to learn some more about you, and for you to ask us any questions you might have about EnergyLab and the Incubator.

We'll let you know of the interview outcome within a couple of days.

Once you are accepted into the EnergyLab Incubator, there will be one more short form to fill in so we know where to send emails and invitations.

After that, it's up and away; let the coaching, connecting and capacity building begin!
The support you need for just $500/month
EnergyLab Incubator memberships are priced at $500/month (+ GST) per company and can be cancelled at any time.
FAQs
Here are some of the questions we're commonly asked. If there is anything else you would like to know please email [email protected].
Can I join the Incubator from <insert location>?
Sure! In this new virtual world, we've set the EnergyLab Incubator up so founders can participate remotely from anywhere in the world. (We do ask, however, that all 'incubatees' have some form of connection to Australia and/or New Zealand.)
Do I need to be working on my startup full-time to join?
No, as long as you have a defined business idea and are working on it for (at least) a few hours each week, you're welcome to apply.
How does the EnergyLab Incubator differ from your other programs?
We've established the EnergyLab Incubator to provide a suite of the most critical business support (i.e. coaching, networking, entrepreneurship skills and peer connections) for cleantech startups that are looking for some additional support to grow, but may not be in a position to join one of our more structured programs.
What does the EnergyLab Incubator offer that's different to a virtual membership?
Our virtual membership is primarily focussed on facilitating peer-to-peer connections and collaboration among cleantech founders in our community. The Incubator extends this remit to include dedicated support for startups in the form of expert business advice, access to industry networks and mentors, and entrepreneurship skills workshops.
When can I apply?
Applications will officially open in early November 2020 (but please feel free to submit an Expression of Interest if you'd like to get in touch before then!).

Once applications have officially opened, you are welcome to apply at any time; we will be accepting and assessing applications on a rolling basis.
